Aim:

To produce a Flood Risk Assessment for a site within Flood Zone three, close to the North East Norfolk Coast. This was undertaken as part a planning application for a change of use at the Walnut Farm caravaning site.Walnut Farm - Create Consulting Engineers

Description:

A Flood Risk Assessment was required to satisfy the local planning authority and emergency planning officer that the site would be safe in the event of a flood and that sufficient emergency plans and evacuation procedures were in place.

Create's Role:

Create Water used their expert planning knowledge and good relationships with the local statutory bodies in order to prepare this Flood Risk Assessment. It was important to establish the exact levels of flood risk at the site for appropriate emergency procedures relating to this risk to be established. Potential flooding at this site is complex as it can be influenced by both fluvial flooding from inland as well as a breach of the nearby coastal defences.

  • Preparation of an NPPF compliant Flood Risk Assessment
  • Development of flood management plan and flood evacuation procedure
  • Liaison with the relevant authorities regarding the sufficiency of emergency procedures
