Create's Role:

Water sampling and testing, together with habitat surveys, ar ebenig carried out in order to determine the nature and sources of pollution, which are currently causing a decline in water quality and biodiversity at the SSSI.

Our clinet, Natural England, is coordinating several linked projects throughout the wider Wensum catchment in order to meet Water Framework Directive targets. The River Wensum is recognised as one of the most important chalk river habitats in the country.

The project requires our knowledge and experience of hydrology, diffuse pollution and the potential impacts of a range of possibel interventions, together with our experience in dealing wiht complex inter-related hydrological functions. The project also meets the national aspiration to increase recreational access to the wider countryside.
