The Ian Williams Foundation

One of our Infrastructure Engineers, Stuart Clarke, is raising funds for The Ian Williams Foundation. A close friend of his, Ian Williams, collapsed whilst training for English Championship rugby club Doncaster Knights, and, despite the best efforts of his teammates and the emergency response team, he could not be resuscitated. He was aged just 27.

The Foundation has been created to offer some small comfort to establish something in Ian’s name that will not only commemorate his life, but also create a lasting legacy that recognises the impact he had on those around him. It will be working with established charities and other organisations (such as CRY – Cardiac Risk in the Young) to develop a platform to further their impact into sport, particularly in rugby.

Stuart’s aim is to work his way through ‘The List’ of 13 events / challenges throughout 2019 to raise a total of £2,500 towards the foundation. He will cover a total of just under 200 miles.
