An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal or Associate Mechanical Design Engineer to work within the Building Services team of an up and coming multidisciplinary consultancy that is recruiting due to continued growth into existing and new areas of work and recent success in securing some significant projects.

You will enjoy great team culture within a strong Building Services team in a role reporting to the Technical Director, with the opportunity to help develop a dynamic Building Services team across the Norwich office as well as others.

Based in our Norwich office (Chelmsford and Cambridge also considered); the candidate will enjoy a varied and diverse role working within the Building Services team with potential to develop and progress with the team and wider business. 

The Principal or Associate must be experienced in internal project/team lead and management of multifaceted building services for the delivery of projects in the UK.  The candidate must be able to provide the lead mechanical design role for a range of projects including projects within commercial, educational, retail, defence, healthcare, residential, mixed use and regeneration.

The opportunity to assist in starting new teams in Chelmsford and/or Cambridge also exists for the right candidate.

Currently working at or towards a Principal/Associate engineer role, the successful candidate will;

  • Have completed a Degree or HNC/D in Building Services or Electrical Engineering.
  • Have at least 10 years design experience within a building services consultancy or contractor.
  • Be a member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) or working towards.
  • Be an experienced user of AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, IES, NBS and other industry standard software (training can be provided to cover minor software skill gaps).
  • Have an awareness of and an interest in BIM practices.
  • Be willing to travel to other company offices and project sites.
  • Be comfortable and confident with clients and other project team members when attending meetings.
  • Have knowledge of the latest construction industry standards and regulations.
