Building Performance Modeller

Based in either our Norwich or London office, the Building Performance Modeller will operate within the Building Services department, completing a range of modelling tasks on a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial projects. Depending on the task at hand the successful applicant can expect to work alongside members of both the Building Services, and Sustainability teams.

The Building Performance Modeller should have extensive experience in completing tasks using the Dynamic Simulation Modelling capabilities of the IES VE suite of software modules. The successful applicant should also have experience of more general simulation modelling, such as daylighting, and energy and the production of reports in support of planning and BREEAM applications including HEA01 and HEA03.

The ideal person will:

  • Have completed a Degree or HNC/D in Building Services Engineering, Sustainable Energy, Climate Change or similar.
  • Have IES Level 4 VE-SBEM, Level 5 VE-DSM Accreditation as well as Level 4 BER Assessor Accreditation or higher.
  • Have at least 2 years’ experience operating within a similar role or business function with the consultancy or construction sectors.
  • Be a member, or actively seeking membership of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) including Low Carbon Consultant or other appropriate professional organisation.
  • Be an experienced user of IES VE. Experience of other design and modelling software such as TAS, AutoCAD and Revit would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Be willing to travel to other company offices and project sites.
  • Have knowledge of the latest construction industry standards.
  • Be confident attending project and design team meeting and facing clients.
